2008 Walt Disney World Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 13K Race Instructions

RACE INSTRUCTIONS

RACE START
The 13K will start promptly at 10:00 pm at Disney’s Hollywood Studios™ .  Please arrive no later than 9:00 pm.  Road closures will begin at 9:00 pm. 

IMPORTANT! Race Transportation Information
Transportation to all race related activities is ONLY provided to and from the host hotels listed on the Hotel Choices page.  If you are not staying at one of the host hotels you will be responsible for your own transportation to and from all race related activities.

TIMING & RESULTS
The 13K is a chip timed event with a 16-minute per mile pace.  All timing chips will be handed out at Packet Pick-up. Please remember to turn in your chip after the race. If you are picked up and transported to the finish line for any reason, you will not receive a finisher’s medal.  Results will be posted at www.towerofterror13k.com following the conclusion of the 13K race.

BAGGAGE CLAIM
There will be a baggage drop off location at Disney’s Hollywood Studios™ .  Disney Cast Members will attach the bottom tear tag of your bib number to your bag when you drop it off at the Baggage Claim tent.   Disney Cast Members will transport your bags from the start to a designated location inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios™ near The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™ attraction.  Your race bib number will be used to verify your bag when you pick it up at the Baggage Claim Area.  Please note that you will be allowed to enter/exit the park if you wish to leave your bags in your cars as long as you still have your race wristband affixed.

BIB NUMBERS
Each runner will be issued a bib number at Packet Pick-up. It is the responsibility of the runner to wear the bib during the race.  If a runner is seen without their bib number while running on the course, they will be removed from the course for Security and Safety Reasons.

WRISTBANDS
Each race participant will receive a wristband during Packet Pick-up which will give them access to the race start area.  The wristband will also allow each race participant access into the Post-Race Party.  Race participants must wear the wristband at all times.  Athletes without their wristbands will NOT have access to the race start area or the Post-Race Party.

AWARDS
Awards will be given to the following:

• Top 3 Men’s and Women’s Finishers
• Top 3 Men’s and Women’s Military
• Men’s and Women’s Masters Champions
• Men’s and Women’s Wheelchair Champion
• Top 3 men and women finishers in the age group divisions

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™ 13K is a USATF sanctioned event.
