OK, I will start.
My first Disney. Of course, my first Goofie. The half/ full challenge was not a difficult as feared. In fact, the warm temps prob kept legs loose and aches and pains below average. The humidity was another story. Odd how in Florida it was more humid before the sun came up. After dawn it lifted a bit and I actually found it easier to run later in races than at the beginning. But, had to keep pace slow and drink everywhere. Fact is, I could not have gone all-out with the humidity. Pace was 10 min slower than my average in half and 20 slower in marathon.
That said, Disney is a hoot! Especially the full marathon. What fun to run through all the parks and be greeted by the characters and employees. Thought running through Epcot (full) and Kingdom (half) in the dark were highlights. Places all lit up and just for the runners. Very cool.
Frankly I found the half course dull. Too much highway- not enough park. Thought the full was much much more interesting to me.
So, I got my Goofie. Check that one off the life list. Will be back in '08 for the Marathon and to see what they have planned for number 15.
Cheers to all slogged through the humidity.
