Well, the Half Marathon is done! My very first one and I feel great! I've posted my results below. I came in faster than I thought I would...am glad I came in under the 3 hour mark. IT WAS A PHENOMINAL experience. I met a wonderful gal by the name of Julie and we chit chatted to pass the time until we started. It WAS COLD!!! But it was better than I expected. I wore layers out there that I could shed once we started and didn't end up having to bring a blanket out there with me. I figured I'd be all yucky and sweaty but I didn't find a bit of sweat on me at the end, lol! I'll have to take time to really post more later. I'm working on some laundry now (have to get those race clothes clean for tomorrow's full marathon)! Looking VERY forward to my 4pm massage...I think that may just be my saving grace for tomorrow. I feel good...feet are a little sore and legs know they've worked but not too bad.
I highly recommend the alternation of running and walking...today, starting right from the beginning of the race, I alternated sets of 5 minute runs with 1 minute walks. Tomorrow I will back down to 4 minute runs. Here are a couple of pics....Matt tried to get a picture of me coming through the finish area but it MUST be my lightning speed (hahahaha...more likely the glare he caught from that early morning sun in his face)...he missed me. But I'm posting it so you can see what the finish looked like :)

I was supposed to be in this finish line picture....notice the 'official time' on the clock.(this is not your 'net' time...the timeit takes you to actually run the race). It took me about 15 minutes to get to the official START...there were something like 12,000 people there! Amazing how they can move that many people to where they need to go and pull this event off!
