Comments:

Since I was going to run the Marathon the next day, I decided to run with my friend AJ who didn't train as much as he should have. I had a good time talkig to him the whole race. The main event is that MArathon for me this time an getting that Goofy medal.

Event comments:

There is no reason to be there at 4am for a 6am race. I froze my ass of just sitting around for 2 hours. Other than that, the race was very well organized and fun.

Running
03:33:35 | 26.2 miles | 8m 09s  min/mile

Performance:Good
Course:The course was fun again. I was not sure how my body would react to 26.2 after yesterday's 13.1. I felt pretty good. about mile 7 my IT band started acting up and I got nervous about it. A few miles later the pain went away. I was running with my friend Dan who qualified for Boston this year so if I could keep pace with him, I'd be doing alright. We found the 3:30 pace group passed us while Dan was making a pit stop so I told him to hurry up. We caught up with them and setteled in at that 3:30 pace. Dan started to fade at mile 15....I told him I had to make a pit stop soon so i would keep with the pace group and I'd catch him afterI was finished with my stop. The stop took me about 3 minutes and it was about mile 18. Now my goal was to catch that 3:30 group. mile 20...I passwd Dan and was keeping a good pace. I had a few 7:45 miles. Then I had a few 8:15 miles. I was not going to catch them. The las 2 miles the pain came. I concentrated on passing the next person in front of me and finally crosses 3 minutes after the pace group. I didn't breat 3:30 but for my first "stand alone" marathon...I can't complain for 3:33.
